(WHERE DO WE COME FROM AND WHERE ARE WE GOING?)
Sedaven Primary school was established in 1954 to provide elementary education for the children of staff members of the Sedaven High School. The school commenced with a single classroom attached to the High School and grew to its present state as a separate building complex next to the Sedaven Church.
Today the school has ten classrooms, a computer lab, a small library, four administration offices, a pre-school section and a dormitory block and almost all the children come from the community in and around Heidelberg.
The school area is well secured and has a security fence which demarcates it from the High School premises, the Retirement Village and the Church. Some facilities, such as the swimming pool and soccer field, are shared with the High School.
Tomorrow (OUR DREAM)
There is not much room for further expansion on the present site and after some years of negotiation and planning, permission has at last been obtained to build a completely new school complex elsewhere on the Sedaven campus. Building operations may start in 2014. The school does not now have the funds for this project, but we believe that having the vision - of a brand new school complex - together with hard work and the blessing from above, a new school will arise, not into the too far distant future!
